Nevada Asbestos Regulations

Nevada Asbestos Regulations

Nevada may be best known for gambling halls, glitzy casinos, and Elvis Presley impersonators, but one thing it may start getting a reputation for is its high number of mesothelioma cases. In 2015, a team of concerned geologists began testing portions of the state’s naturally formed rocks and testing the air quality. What they believed they uncovered was frightening. Commercial development and natural erosion were sending harmful asbestos into the atmosphere, causing cancer in nearby residents in Las Vegas. While the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) designated this particular area as a Superfund cleanup site, the damage was already being done. Many people in the area now suffer from illness and some have even died as a result of mesothelioma. Remember, asbestos can also be found at your place of work or even in your own home.
