Alimony Slavery

Ok, my husband was only offered 3 years of alimony relief because the judge gave him credit for 3 years that the ex should have notified him that the alimony reduced or ceased because of PSA ratified in divorce. When the 3 years are up, he start paying the alimony again. I am the second wife. I married him after he was apart from 1st for 12 years. He adopted our daughter who I have supported by myself for over 16 years. I am retired. I worked 31 years. Our daughter is due to start college in 2010. He is retired. I am on my own with college expenses. What can be done about these women who use men as their gravy train? I am devastated. Do I have any recourse?

Re: Alimony Slavery

As apparently your husband's second wife, your recourse (whatever it may be-if any)would most likely lie by way of your husband finding a means to either reduce or eliminate his obligation to continue to pay spousal support to his first wife.

(The terms of his PSA should be carefully scrutinized by an attorney to determine whether there is any way for him to achieve this.)
