back pay from 1988

While on active duty in Navy, hurt knee on board ship, had 2 screws put in right knee. Not longer after one screw had to be removed due to pain. One screw still in to this date. Medically Discharged June 1988. Was told I was rated 10%, missed an appointment dropped to 0% now back to 10%. Knee was operated on at Kaiser in 1999 because I was told I had no benefits. I have never received a dime for my disability. Am I entitled to back pay from 1988?

Re: back pay from 1988

From what you wrote, it would appear that you would be entitled to the 10% pay since 1988 when it was first approved. You should not lose disability simply because you missed an appointment.
