Debt not repaid:
I have a Utah resident [a 'friend' ! ] owing our family & not making even token goodwill payments for ages now - 1: What are the options in that state please for enforcement, collection & focusing his mind on a payment plan? 2: Is it a fatal problem that we did no real paperwork... [I'm outside the Americas so costs and simplicity are important factors...]. Thanks in advance and all the best in 2011.
You would have to return to Utah to sue, and have witnesses who can testify to the debt. Oral agreements can be enforced if there are witnesses.
