Deframation of character.

My ex wife in sworn court documents, has told outlandish stories, and outright lies about me and my parenting skills for the past 6 years to try to persuade the judge to remove my rights to our son. How would I go about filing a Deframation of character law suit, and do you think I stand a chance of victory??

Re: Deframation of character.

I don't know about New Jersey law, but in most states such a lawsuit would stand no chance at all. Why? Because statements made in the course of litigation are privileged and cannot form the basis of a defamation judgment.

Hopefully a New Jersey lawyer will respond to your question and say whether this rule applies in your state.
