dual citizenship
I was born in NY (1962) and am American. My father was born in NY (1932) and was American - he died in 1985. Both his mother and father were born in Italy, emigrated to NY between 1910-1920?. I don't know if they ever became naturalized US citizens or retained their Italian citizenship. Both are deceased. Am I eligible for dual citizenship (both US and Italian)? Also, my mother was born in Germany (1934) met Dad in 1952, married and came to NY in 1955. She became a naturalized US citizen in1986. Could I obtain multiple citizenships, US, Italian and German or any combination? I do not want to lose my US Citizenship, simply add Italian and/or German. Thank you.

Last I checked, the US requires you to renounce your US citizenship if you take on that of another nation. If you are born into more then just US citizenship, you have to choose once you become an adult. This gets even more complicated, but in your case, you should stick with the US and drop the others unless you are willing to lose your US citizenship.
