elderly driving

My 84 year old Mom lives with me and my family. We own 2 homes and have other assets. She is still driving, owns her own car and has her own auto insurance with a different company other than ours. Should she get into an accident and hurt or kill someone, could they sue us just because we are family/related and she lives with us in our home? Or could they only sue for her assets? We live in Florida in Seminole County.

Re: elderly driving

You have no legal liability. If you do not believe she can safely drive, you have, in my judgment, a moral obligation to the rest of us on the road to counsel her strongly to stop driving.
