I entered into a private contract to purchase a home in March 2008. A few weeks later I received foreclosure paperwork. What can I do to keep my home?

If I understand your question correctly, you are buying property on contract from the owner of the property. The owner of the property has not been paying his mortgage payment, and therefore the lender has commenced foreclosure.
If this is the case, you should contact an attorney immediately to file an answer in the case. If you do not do anything, a default judgment will be entered against you, and you will eventually be evicted from the house.
