hair clients

when working on commission as a hair dresser,if I choose to quit the job,to whom do those clients belong?They are people who chose me as their hairdresser.The owner says she will sue me if I tell these people where i am now working.

The owner could likely take successful legal action against you only if you signed a so-called non-compete agreement that would prohibit you from soliciting your former clients or unilaterally providing information to them which would permit them to continue to use your hairdressing services rather than those of the owner.
