HOV rules & exceptions
I was on freeway in middle lane. 3 ln. hwy #1 ln. HOV car jumps in front of me slamming his brakes without notice car to the right of me only place to go to avoid collision HOV ln. for 1-2min. until clear to return to middle lane safely. CHP on ramp entrance patroling sees lane change then persues.I explain situation he questioned details I answered no hesitation wrote ticket anyway. Is their any exception to law in emergency or should the collision just accure? What options are available to careful & cautious drivers?Location hwy 101 sonoma county santa rosa, Ca.

He wrote you a ticket because you spoke to him. Remember, you have the right to remain silent. Now he has something to use against you in court. Read "Fight Your Ticket" (nolo.com).
