placing a lien on an Australian business entity
I am a U.S. business that provides a service for an Austalian company. I have not been paid for those services in 8 months and am wondering how I would effectuate a lien on the Australian business. One of the strongest assets that the Australian business maintains is an R&D credit account from the Australian government that entitles it to refunds of 50 cents for every dollar it spends on R&D. My intent would be to attach the lien to that government funding as the most effective means for my getting paid. I recognize that mechanics lien laws vary extensively from state to state in the U.S. and would expect the same to be true internationally. I would like to hire an attorney with experience in this arena to help protect my interests. Any help on this topic would be appreciated. Thank you.
