References on a Website

I'm building a website for a company that does constructing-type work. The owner of the company wants me to show how much credibility he has by posting the past clients and their information on the website--like a list of previous clients as references. This isn't legal unless I have each person's permission, right?

Re: References on a Website

It depends on exactly what information is being used, and how it is being used.

Short of receiving permission from each previous client, you can and should also consider receiving certain protections and indemnities in your contract with the company.
