School expulsion

My 13-year-old (with perfect record, and knows better) took some pills from a kid at school. Long story short, the kid who brought them is being charged, but not the receivers, but all are suspended from school and pending expulsion. Her principle knows her and will advocate for her,but there is zero tolerance by school board policy. She faces expulsion, possible alternative school placement, or if they will let her return to school. She has a huge list of consequences she is doing at home and we have requested community service from the police for her to do. How can we legally advocate for her to be allowed to remain at school after her suspension??

Re: School expulsion

Not all school boards are alike and you are dealing with politics more than "legal rights." If the principal is on your side, I would go and meet with him or her and take your ques that way. The principal will know the best way to approach the school board.
