Slippery Soap Slip

My grandmother went to a local Rite Aid Drugstore where she slipped on knockdown soap in the one of the aisles. She hurt herself and is bruised. She went to the doctor where X-rays revealed nothing is broken. She doesn't have health insurance and needs to go to the doctor because she's in pain since the fall. A report wasn't filed. Anything she can do now to help her cover he expenses?

Re: Slippery Soap Slip

You don't say how long it has been since your grandmother's accident, but if it's only a matter of a few days or so, she might try reporting it to the store now. It is possible there is a Medpay provision in their insurance policy allowing for a few thousand dollar's worth of medical payments for persons injured in the store on account of employee negligence. She could bring a doctor's note stating she was initially treated for injuries from a fall in the store, presuming that is what she told the doctor at the first visit. Otherwise, I would think there's Medicare. Good luck. Best, M.E. Zuller
