the will

My aunt passed away about 2 years ago and left me and her nieces and nephews $24000 each. MY uncle is in charge of this money. He told me once I turned 21 and/or graduated from college, I would recieve this money. But it does not say ''when'' in the will. It just says that we would get the money. Well, I just turned 21 in march and still no money. He will not return my emails when I ask for it. The last thing he said was that it was in a CD until the end of June and he did not have access to my funds. It's almost the end of June. How do I get this money that all my cousins have recieved except for me?

Re: the will

The starting point to answer your question will likely be found at the probate court where her estate is being administered. I must assume that there was a will. In that case, examine the contents of the will. If there are no restrictions on the bequest, or if the restrictions have lapsed, you may be able to file a petition with the court to order your Uncle to disburse the funds.

However, this is a hostile action. It certainly won't help family relationships. It may be worthwhile for you to consult with an attorney who can examine all the facts and circumstances to see if there are other options to address your problem.
