Traffic Violation and Summons

If the summons to appear in court is in error, am I obligated to attend the hearing? I was cited for a traffic violation this year (2007) by a police officer and summoned to appear in court on September 2006. Obvioulsy, since this summons date is incorrect, do I still have to go to court or is there a legal loophole here?

Re: Traffic Violation and Summons

Yes, you're obligated to appear on whatever date in September is referenced on the summons, and the fact

that the officer may have inadvertently wrote 2006 instead of 2007 in no way excuses you from appearing nor will such a minor error provide you with a legal loophole to escape justice.
