I was arrested 10 years ago In NY when I was 22 , and i understand my conviction was conditional discharge, I wanted to know if there is anyway I can get it expunged or pardoned in any way, I have noticed that I have applied for many govt jobs and have been turned down do to my criminal background, this is the only conviction I have on my background. I was told that, its a Violation and that it shouldn't bar me from getting a govt job or into law enforcement, I understand it will be up to these employers if they want to hire me. I always disclose my arrest with every law enforcement or govt job I apply to because I understand they are able to see my arrest. any advice would be very appreciated
You need to repost your question in the NY forum not NJ
You would have to apply in New York, not New Jersey to have it expunged. A Conditional Discharge, if that is what you got, should no longer be on your record as that is the purpose of same.
This has been posted to the New Jersey forum. you will need to ask lawyers in New York.
