You can file for child support through the state. They will open a case and contact the father. The process may be slow but eventually they may get an order. Otherwise you can hire an attorney to go through the court, which will be faster. But you will have to spend the money to hire the attorney.

The least expensive alternative is to go to the child support enforcement office for your county and ask them to file for child support. Their attorney will work to get a child support order and deal with the interstate aspects of the case.
