I was enlisted at the time I signed for a predatory payday loan and have been paying them for almost two years constantly having to renew as it's almost impossible to pay them off. I heard about the MLA and each time I ask the company about it they never answer me and refuse to give anything in writing regarding my questions. I have stopped paying as everything I've read shows I have rights under the MLA. What they had last told me was, Their company did not follow compliance for MLA until this year. After some research I now know Oklahoma passed this a few years back, they have served me papers and I paid one payment to stop them from garnishing my checks as they said they would in the papers I was served. Any info would be great!
There is a federal Military Lending Act, but I am not aware of a state law passed in Oklahoma. The federal law does offer protections but you don't say in what way you think the MLA was violated. Please provide more information and I will evaluate. Thank you.
PS Don't let the time to answer the suit run, the predator will be able to get a judgment by default against you and you will lose your rights forever to defend yourself.
