I was in a car accident 2 years it was rule no one at fault and im now being sued and am also going threw bankruptcy... what do I do
As the car accident was presumably before the filing of the bankruptcy, amend your schedules to include the claim against you and have it discharged in the bankruptcy, provided that there was no alcohol or drug involvement in the accident.
You need to add this creditor/lawsuit to your bankruptcy schedules. There is a $31 filing fee to add a creditor. You need to file the amended list of creditors before the case is discharged. If you do not have an attorney you might ask the clerk of court if they would show you the form to add the creditor. They can not give you legal advice but they may show you how this is handled in your court. Hope it works out. Good luck!
New car purchase
I purchased a new truck on 8-11-07. I want to return it, can I? If so, do I only have so many days/hours?I traded in another truck and would just like to have it back. I did not give any money down.
Hello,
My family first came to the U.S. on a B2 Visa in 1993, when I was just 2 years old, for pleasure purposes. We then returned back to Pakistan after our 2 month vacation in the U.S. After a year in Pakistan my family permanently moved to the United States, in 1994, on an L Visa. We have been back to Pakistan twice after 1994 just to visit. On June 21, 2000 we came back to the U.S., on our L Visa, from our second trip to Pakistan. We had our Visa up until 2002. As a result of September 11, 2001 we were unable to renew our Visas and faced financial hardship in doing so. We currently hold no have no status and I am now 18 years old. I am having trouble financing college tuition and was forced to decline my acceptance into a few universities here in California. I want to become a legal resident and eventually a citizen so I can be a positive contributor to society. I have an uncle who is an U.S. citizen.
I need help! What options do I have?
Clearing a record
I was arrested for shoplifting more than 20 years ago. I am now 55 years old and would like to know if I can have this taken off my record?
Ex filed bankruptcy named me as a creditor
My ex filed (not sure which chapter) last year. Per our divorce decree he is to pay 1/2 of the student loans I had to take out for out sons education. I never received a final dispensation of the hearing. I will not contact the atty. who represented me (as she sold me down the river on many things that were court ordered). How can I obtain the final ruling on his bankruptcy? I live in another state now (& have for almost 8 yrs. now). Will I have to fly to the other state to place him in contempt of court (providing he is still responsible to pay his half)? Also in my divorce decree I asked for his life insurance to irrevocably go to my son and it was so ordered by the court. Could he have weaseled his way out of that as well? Thank you
put on notice
when an attorney sends you a letter, puts you on notice concerning a number of issues, and you don't agree that they have the right to enforce such issues, are you required to answer or even acknoweldge the letter? By not answering ,are you implying that you agree with the issues included in the notice?
