I was arrested Sunday and released on a DWI charge and now they want me to come back in. What should I do?

It is likely that the police department issued you a summons for a court date/location that is unavailable due to the courthouse closures arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The police department is likely asking you to go into the station so they can reissue your summons for a new court date/location. It is important that you discuss your DUI matter with a criminal defense attorney and to not make any statements to the police at this time.

I don't believe that you will be getting rearrested. What has likely occurred is that you were given a court date (or court location) that will not work due to the many COVID-19 court closures. Go to the police department to get the updated paperwork (with date and court location) and do NOT discuss the DUI case at all. If possible, go with a family member or friend. After that contact a good criminal defense attorney.
