I am being sued in small claims court by my ex-employer. It is a frivilous suit being brought just to harrass me. He is saying I owe him a month's salary, but I don't. He sues people constantly and has a long court record of frivilous suits. All he wants to accomplish is for me to show up and for him to see me and I want nothing to do with him. He tried to stop my unemployment benefits twice by appealing and lost and this is just more harassment. I will not be in the same room with this man as he is a violent drug addict and is suing me just so I'll show up and he can see me. How can I get out of this? Can I submit my evidence in writing to the judge? I don't want to just hand him a $2500 judgment against me that isn't fair, but I refuse to be in the same room with him and give him the satisfaction of him seeing me.
