Multiple Child Support Collections
Is it legal for four different states, i.e., (MI, MN, MO, IN), to collect child support payments for the same child, all at the same time?
Example: Michigan issues an Order of Support, and sets the amount at $100 per week based on their child support fromula. (The non-custodial parent then begins making timely payments). Then the custodial parent moves to MN, MO, then IN. Each time claiming that ''no'' support payments are being recieved.
Each state in turn establishes a seperate Order of Support for $100 per week.
The custodial parent is now recieving a total of $400 per week in support payments.
Is this considered legal in civil court? And, are there any penalties for the custodial parent?
quit claim or joint tenancy deed?
my dad wants to quit claim his only real asset to me (house). I think we should do a joint tenancy deed for tax reasons for him while he is still alive. he does not want to take the time to do a will or trust, so I feel stuck. Could you tell me the pros or cons of each?
