This may be a little long so please bear with me:
I was booked into King County on 3/11/2020 on VUSCA charges with my husband. Due to the COVID-19 scares and someone at my work exposed with the virus I was put in isolation by myself during my stay. My original court date was on 3/12/2020, no one came and got me to go to court. On 3/13/2020 I was told by a correctional officer that I was not medically released to go to court and that they were going to be seen without me. I was released with no bail later on that evening.
I was not told when my court date would be, I cannot find anything online, I have even called the public defenders office to find out who my public defender would be and they can't even find my attorney.
Online through King County my charges are as follows:
"VUCSA/ILL DRUGS INV - INVESTIGATED AND CHARGED"
"VUSCA SUMMONS - CONDITIONAL RELEASE"
My husband however was able to go to court and he has received his court date. I was able to release him out on bond.
This is both our first offense. And we are VERY interested in hiring a lawyer to help us with this case.
Hi,
I handle these types of cases in King County and can help you figure out what is going on and can represent you on this if you would like to retain counsel. You can learn more about me at: www.JenniferHorwitzLaw.com or email me at: jennifer@jenniferhorwitzlaw.com.
"we are VERY interested in hiring a lawyer to help us with this case." Then, you and your husband need to separately call law offices whose attorneys handle criminal law offenses. You and the husband will need to hire separate attorneys as one attorney will have conflicts of interest in representing both of you on the same charge.
Attorneys here cannot contact you. First, the attorneys do not know your contact information. Second, even if the attorneys have your contact information, soliciting business with strangers would be ethical violations for attorneys.
The jails are not holding persons now unless necessary to avoid crowding while the coronavirus is going on.
