A merchant in Japan tried to copy my signature 3 times, the signatures were professionally verified to be false. The original bank refused to verify signatures, and never acknowledged the fraud, despite other evidence provided, such as my colleague's wallet being stolen at the same time and then charged falsely by the same merchant. Now a US collection agency has sent a first letter of collection.
What are my legal risks? Thank you!
If a US collection agency is trying to collect an invalid debt you have the right avail yourself of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal statute. Contact a U. S. lawyer for advice because if you ignore the collection agency it could result in a collection action that you might have difficulty defending.

Adding a person onto the deed to my house
If I add my partner onto the deed to my house, if we break up, would she be entitled to half the house. I've lived in the house 21 yrs. She has been there for 5 yrs.
I am involved in a child custody case. My parent's called CPS on my family and were allowed to take possession of my daughter temporarily while an investigation was completed. We were absolved of any charges of abuse/neglect but my parent's retained temporary custody for 8 months. We are going back to court for final hearing and I would like the family therapist that my family used during this time to provide testimony/be a character witness and speak on our behalf and share vital information that she has on my family and my parent's detrimental behavior towards my daughter. Our therapist is very willing to join us for this.
What do I have to do for the judge to allow the therapist to speak during our hearing and provide evidence?
If a neighbor does something just inside my property line, such as planting bushes or trees, can this create a problem for me, in terms of my property ownership and rights?
If he plants something inside his property line, and it starts growing over onto my property, such as a tree or bushes, can I cut the portions growing over/onto my property?
