SOCIAL SECURITY REINSTATEMENT
In January of this year I asked to have my ssdi reinstated or turned back on
In 2013 I was supposed to have a medical review and never happened.
In January my entire file was sent to DDS
for a review. I filled out the many papers you need to turn back on the payments
In 2016 I stopped my benefits thinking I would go back to work and never did
My disability got worse
As of now I am not getting my benefits each month but asked to turn them on.
As of now all continuing disability reviews are on pause till all this Coronavirus stuff is over
You are not allowed to go in person and only phone calls are made to field office
Will the Ssa turn them back on anyway or will I have to wait months for everything to go back to normal ?
I was never getting reinstatement provisional benefits in the mean time
You can expect some delay because of the coronavirus. You should consult a social security attorney now. To find a lawyer, select the “Find a lawyer” link at the top of this page. If the cost of the consultation is a concern, you can filter the search results by selecting “Free consultation” on the left side of the screen.
I agree with Mr. Camisa that everything is taking longer now. I will add that you describe a complex procedural history and it would be a good idea to retain a local SS attorney for assistance.
I would expect a bit of a delay until this pandemic is sorted out. We are in uncharted territory right now.
