If I create some software for my boss for work can I copyright it personally. Ok here's the back story. I work for a construction company, but I'm good with computers. My boss wants to make a franchise business and he asked me to make the software that he will eventually sell with the business. Technically do I own the software or does he. If I do I want to copyright it so I can get a percentage of future sales. Legally can I do this?

I was shopping @ wal-mart in waveland mississippi. Over the intercom I heard..--name removed--..Your ride is leaving. Armed with mu buggy with items paid for yet still in my buggy was a nasa king sized mattress topper..Not yet paid for. First on my mind was oh shit i cannot walk home so i immediately consulted a cashier with access to an intercom and frantically asked her to page a marlon my ride...She did no-one came looked both directions nothing to do but see if i could possibly catch him entering his vehicle. I raced past the dooor greeeter whom i know said i got to see if my ride left i am sure he did not hear nor knew what i was talking about. I stopped dead at the semi-ramp toward the parking lot to see if i could spot him. Knowing if i could not i would have to call a cab or whomever. At that very instant i was handcuffed .

Permission to record my child's performance

My child's music school recently started asking parents to sign an agreement before they can tape music performance in a school (free) concert.

The aggreement states transmitting the recording without the school's authorization is prohibitted.

I just wonder if there is a legal ground for the school to prohibit me to tape/broadcast my own child's performance.

My child played Mozart concerto, thus, the copyright shouldn't be an issue; besides, I have the accompanist's consent.

Hi,

I have two questions:

1. I own a trademark for a certain toy which is widely infringed these days.

I'm looking for a law firm that can prosecute the companies that infringe my trademark but I would like to pay on a commission basis.

Means that only a certain percentage of the collected money from the companies that infringe my trademark. Please let me know if you know of a law company like this that can pursue without an upfront fee.

2. I have another toy that I designed and I would like to present it to a large company in order to negotiate with them the terms of a possible agreement for co-operation.

I would like to know costs of such service with advantage to law companies that have experience in the toy industry.

I do not want to sue the kids, I want to sue the YMCA for not putting the proper fencing up to keep the members from climbing my fence and stomping my plants. They are very aware of this problem and keep promising to fix it, however it just gets worse. They have some 8' to 10' fencing they could put up and they have have said they world at the end of last season. Didn't happen. I am 65 and my husband is 75 and dying of cancer, but we have to put out our SS money to try and have some peace and privacy and we can only do so much on that income. Is there any recourse that can be taken now?

my uncle in retirement home 85 yrs old. had a will leaving his bank account to his siblings, never was married, if they are deceased goes to their living children. My sister took the will from my mothers papers when she died ,my mother was then exector of his will.she is now saying my uncle made her co-owner of his bank account and that it is all hers. My uncle will not answer to any of us on this as he in in ill health and he is the type of person that thinks everything goes as it is supposed to be. She will not show me a copy of whatever proof that she has control of his account . We have called the attorneys where this will was filed and they can't find any record of the will. We live behind the Y, they claim to have no responsibility to keep their patrans or balls of of our property. They just jump our fence at any time. What is our recourse. they have hit our door, our plants and even though we have talked to the mgr. we get a--name removed--hum attitude.

Yet his patrons have called menames because I yell at the kids and the parents for climbing over my fence and into my backyard.

I have been contacted by Getty Images and told that I owe them $3500 for three photos used on my website. I did not know the images were copyrighted and was never notified before the demand for payment. I was never told to take the images down from my site as their demand was the first I'd heard of the violation. Should I have been given fair warning to remove the images? Is their demand without such a request valid ? I live and work in California.

Non-Disclosure Prior Knowledge Exception

I own a software development business and am a programmer myself. From time to time, when meeting with a potential client about a software application they would like to create, I am asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Sometimes there are portions of their technology that I have developed myself, years before meeting with them. It is possible that our two companies never end up working together or work for a period of time and then are not under contract with each other. The problem I fear is that I they might sue for breach of the non-disclosure agreement if I pursue future projects that may incorporate ''confidential information'' that we have shared - even though I had prior knowledge of the technology before ever working with them.

What is the best method for me to document and time-stamp all of my software knowledge so that I could defend myself if needed? I have looked into filing all of my code, documentation, and web-site text with the U.S. copyright office. However, I saw there that the information then becomes public knowledge. Would the public be able to see my computer code?

Google has a $2m prize for best ideas, but would I retain ownership/rights or would we (both Google and I) jointly own the rights if I make a submission? Please help! Google's exact clause is below:

What does that ''as between you and Google'' part mean....it kinda makes me nervous and think that I wouldn't soley own my invention/idea if I submitted it.
