I was born in the USA and I have a home and have lived in Florida for more than 6 years. I also have a home in Costa Rica. I would like to apply for residency in Costa Rica. It has a requirement of 4 months spent in that country. If I apply and receive my residency and spend 8 months of the year in Florida, am I still a Florida resident as it apply to voting, school access for my children etc...

I am a U.S. business that provides a service for an Austalian company. I have not been paid for those services in 8 months and am wondering how I would effectuate a lien on the Australian business. One of the strongest assets that the Australian business maintains is an R&D credit account from the Australian government that entitles it to refunds of 50 cents for every dollar it spends on R&D. My intent would be to attach the lien to that government funding as the most effective means for my getting paid. I recognize that mechanics lien laws vary extensively from state to state in the U.S. and would expect the same to be true internationally.
