I love my job because I get to help real people.
At my firm, Langdon & Emison, we are dedicated personal injury lawyers. We represent real people who have been seriously injured and the families of wrongful death victims in a wide variety cases.
We take pride in helping our clients through the most stessful and painful time in their lives. Our clients lives have been destroyed and turned upside down because of someone else's actions. We help our clients put their lives back in order and ensure that those resonsible are held accountable.
I am a trial lawyer helping real people. I, and other Langdon & Emison attorneys, actually try cases in courtrooms across the country. I have represented real people against some of the largest corporations in the world, including General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Union Pacific, Bayer, and others.
Langdon & Emison attorneys battled General Motors through the federal courts and all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States... and won for our clients. Baker v. GM, 522 U.S. 222 (1998) held that General Motors could not buy the slience of its former employee, Ron Elwell. This 9-0 decision is now taught in law schools across the country.
During law school at the University of Missouri -- Columbia, I served as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Missouri Law Review and received Order of Coif honors. Following graduation, I served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable William Ray Price, Jr. of the Missouri Supreme Court. Since joining Langdon & Emison in 2004, I have represented victims and the families of victims in Missouri and across the country.
Our clients and their cases have been featured in the national media, such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, major network newscasts, CNN, Fox News and more. Our experience, focus, and resources allow our lawyers to maximize the recovery for our clients, with total verdicts and settlements exceeding half a billion dollars.
I, along with my colleagues at Langdon & Emison, assist those needing a:
We also have a proven track record for clients with cases involving Car Fires and Defective Fuel Systems, Defective Tires, Defective Child Seats, stability and rollover defects, Aftermarket and Modified Vehilces (including Recreational Vehicles, Ambulances, Limosuines, Handicapped Accessible Vehicles, and Mobile Equipment), Toner Shoes, Yaz Birth Control, SSRI Birth Defects, DePuy Artificial Hip Defects, and Zimmer Knee Defects.

Death and injury cases are difficult for clients under any circumstances, but particularly when the death or injury could have been easily prevented, but was caused by a defective or dangerous product. We help our clients put their lives back together and use world class engineers and experts to show how and why a defect product caused our client's injuries and damages.
Our clients are often emotionally and physically devastated by the injuries leading to their personal injury claim. Often times, our clients are not able to work and cannot afford the out-of-pocket costs of care required for their post-injury care. We are here to help clients through this incredibly difficult time and to ensure that those responsible for the tragedy are held accountable.
Auto accidents are difficult time in any client's life. Often times the severity of the injuries outweigh the amount of insurance coverage available. We identify all potential sources of recovery and help our clients through often tough negotiations with insurance companies.
When a freight train or passenger train crashes into a vehicle at a railroad crossing, the results are nearly always devastating. We help our clients through these difficult times by working with the best railroad experts in the country to show the jury how the railroad company and train crew could have avoided the crash.
Semi truck and tractor trailer cases take a special skill and ability. We help our clients navigate these difficult cases. These cases are not like a regular auto crash case. We work with trucking industry specialist who can show the jury exactly why and how the trucking company or truck driver caused the crash and injuries.
Class action and multi-district litigation is some of the most complex litigation imaginable. We guide our clients through this complex process and have been at the forefront of some of the most complex mass tort litigation in the country. Our attorneys, including myself, have been leaders in mass tort litigation, such as the Ford/Firestone multi-district litigation and the Yaz birth control MDL currently pending in the Southern District of Illinois.
