Brett Berger represents individuals who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others. He focuses his practice in the areas of automobile negligence, medical malpractice, trip/slip and falls, and negligent security. Brett brings extensive litigation experience to Maney|Gordon after spending the majority of his legal career defending insurance carriers and their insureds.
Brett received his B.A. in Criminology from the University of Florida and earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Mr. Berger is admitted to the Florida Bar. Brett spent the first 3 years of his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. During that time, he gained substantial trial experience and defended a wide array of cases including misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony criminal charges.
Brett retired from his position at the Public Defender Office to dedicate his legal practice to the defense of insurance carriers and their insureds in claims of automobile negligence, premise liability, negligent security, and professional malpractice. Mr. Berger was employed by a well-credentialed private defense law firm, and subsequently served as in-house legal counsel for one of Florida’s largest insurance companies. Working as an “insider” for the insurance carriers has provided Brett with significant insight regarding how the insurance companies and defense lawyers operate in order to avoid the payment of compensation to negligence victims. This knowledge and perspective continues to prove invaluable to Brett’s clients at Maney|Gordon.
