I was a business consultant and Entrepreneur for many years. During this time I had many attorneys and often felt that they certainly knew the law but often did not understand my business or my desire of a certain outcome. About 8 years ago through my business efforts, I was in a place and time in my life where I could take some time off. I was always curious about the law and made the decision to attend law school. In law school I took all the business classes that fit into my schedule and graduated passing the Bar on my first attempt. The first law practice I joined was not a fit for me as I felt things were not business friendly enough. When I left I wanted to have a law firm that understood business and had a common sense approach to all forms of law. I didn't wan't to name it the Sarris Law firm or have a lot of partner names.
The Affinity Law Firm was founded and then merged with the Law Office of Millie Kanyar. A strong partnership was formed that relied strongly on technology, business models, and an "affinity" for the law. In a short time another partner joined, Graham Syfert, and we have not stopped growing. Affinity Law now handles many types of law but has not forgot the basics that client service is number one. As an entrepreneur I did not like many things about law firms and at Affinity we have eliminated many of those issues to provide the client with the feedback and updates they deserve.

I was a business consultant (MBA) before obtaining my Jurist Doctorate. My practice is based on "preventive law" to minimize my clients risk, protect their assets, and prevent unnecessary legal problems. All issues are looked at as what is best for the business and how can I make the law for the client. Many of my clients like this "business concentric" concept.
Although litigation is never a first option, sometimes it is the only option. When it is necessary for my clients we can mediate, arbitrate or litigate.
Besides my law degree I also have a Real Estate License, a Mortgage Brokers License, am a Title Insurance Agent and am a partner in Tidal Title, L.L.C. which is a closing and escrow company. I have been licensed and involved in real estate for my entire adult life. My practice has closed residential, commercial and assisted with Island resorts. I also teach real estate and have been involved in the major real estate investment groups in NE Florida.
We always strive to use alternative methods to Bankruptcy such as loan modifications, debt restructuring, etc. However, we can take all Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 Cases.
