Mr. Knight’s passion is helping small business owners achieve their goals. His expertise ranges from business plan development and formation, branding creation and registration (trademark and copyrights). Creation and revision of employer/employee agreements, vendor contracts, franchise agreements, mergers and acquisitions, business disputes and all forms of commercial litigation.
Upon being admitted to the Florida Bar, Mr. Knight was hired as In-House Counsel by the St. Joe Company, a publicly traded real estate developer and one of the largest land-holders in the state of Florida. While there, he led a project to reorganize the corporate structure of the company through a complex series of mergers and dissolutions of multiple subsidiaries. He was also responsible for maintaining and updating the corporate record books for St. Joe and each of its subsidiaries. In addition, he drafted and reviewed quarterly and annual SEC filings to ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal governance standards. He is proficient in all aspects of real estate law ranging from zoning and ordinance issues up to and through construction of large scale residential and commercial developments. Notwithstanding his extensive corporate background, his true passion is assisting individuals and small businesses diversifying their portfolio by acquiring real estate investments.
Mr. Knight is also adept at drafting and negotiating complex commercial and residential construction contracts, including vendor and professional service agreements. He commonly responded to foreclosure complaints on behalf of the company and its subsidiary Homeowner Associations. Mr. Knight has also researched complex labor employment matters in anticipation of litigation.
Following his time with St. Joe, Mr. Knight accepted a position with Deutsche Bank, AG, one of the world’s largest and most equitably stable private lending and investment banks. As a member of Deutsche Bank’s Legal team, he negotiated and drafted various Agreements within the Bank’s Foreign Exchange and Prime Brokerage division, such as Master Netting Agreements and Annexes, Margin Lending Agreements, and other synthetic lines of credit.
In 2010, Mr. Knight joined an AV rated law firm with offices in Downtown Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra. While there, he was instrumental in the development and operation of the Firm’s Business Law, Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property and Bankruptcy practices.
He later joined one of the largest creditor's rights firms in the country where he served as Managing Attorney over the General Litigation, Federal Litigation and Appellate Divisions.
