Ms. Marivette González is an experienced Family Law Attorney in Central Florida as well as a State of Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.
As an attorney Ms. González knows that each case has its unique set of circumstances and needs to be handled with its very own customized approach focusing on its distinct characteristics. Her goal is to obtain justice and she is passionate about helping people through difficult and sensitive family law matters.As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator Ms. González, takes off her attorney hat to help facilitate the negotiations and create a respectful atmosphere to allow the parties to reach the best possible outcome as a disinterested and unbiased third party during a mediation. She helps create solutions to the issue that are agreeable to all parties involved. The mediation process gives the parties themselves control rather than a lawyer or judge. It allows the parties to create a solution that works best for them and their family rather than letting someone else, like a lawyer or judge. In mediation each party is empowered and encouraged to express his or her concerns so that all perspectives are taken into account to reach an optimal solution for all under the circumstances.
Ms. Marivette González is a graduate of Rutgers University and Florida A&M University, College of Law. Ms. González has distinguished herself in Orlando’s vibrant vibrant leadership community as a current Board Member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando (HCCMO) and as past Chair the of the Ambassadors. She has also served on the Board Member of Young Fathers of Central Florida addressing father’s right in family law matters. She was featured in the 2016 Vision Magazine as One of the 25 Influential Hispanics in Central Florida based on professional contributions, accomplishments, and demonstrated leadership and recognized by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.Upon graduating from Rutgers University in New Jersey, Ms. González moved to Florida where she became a Senior/High Risk Probation Officer for Seminole County. As a senior probation officer, she was a member of various criminal task forces and received numerous honors, awards, and recognitions. She also conducted a high risk offender pilot program for Seminole County and was one of the first Officers to help implement the Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for offenders. Hence, she obtained first-hand knowledge of the various aspects of the criminal justice system.
Subsequently, Ms. González attended Florida A&M University, College of Law, where she received the Holly Marie Stutz scholarship for outstanding academic qualifications and commitment to public interest law. While in law school, Ms. González worked in the Homelessness Clinic assisting clients with family law and landlord/tenant matters. In addition, she provided legal assistance to small non-profit businesses as the lead intern in the pro bono Community Economic Clinic. After successfully completing law school and passing the Florida State Bar Examination, Ms. González garnered experience in family law, real estate (foreclosure / loan modifications / evictions), probate and criminal matters. She also served at the Office of the Public Defender, Ninth Circuit, where she represented hundreds of people in various matters of criminal law.Ms. González has also been featured as a guest commentator on Telemundo and on Orange County Television, co-hosted two Bright House Cable feature community reports on “Spousal Abuse” with CEO, Carol Wick of Harbor House of Central Florida. She continues to be a regular commentator and host for Speak Out TV’s Community Advocacy Programming on issues affecting the Hispanic community, co-hosted “I Need to Know Radio Show” to educate the public on family law, hosted the “2012 Knowledge is Power Seminar” to educate Women on their legal rights, and was a guest speaker at the 2013, 2014, and 2018 Annual Young Fathers of Central Florida Conference. She has been an active member of the Central Florida Family Law Inns of Court, an organization dedicated to improving the practice of family law through continuing education and interaction with local judges.
