In addition to my biographical information below, I would like to announce that Harry Shorstein has joined our firm.
In January of 2009, my dad, Harry Shorstein, retired from his position as the State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit (Duval, Clay and Nassau Counties) and came to work with us. Prior to his almost 18 years as the State Attorney, he was in private practice representing plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death cases, individuals and companies charged with crimes or being investigated by the federal authorities and doctors and other professionals in front of licensing boards. He will continue to do this for Shorstein & Lasnetski, LLC going forward.
I was born on July 21, 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Florida in 1993, where I was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic fraternity. In 1997, I graduated Magna Cum Laude and in the top 3% of my class from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. At U.C. Hastings, I was a member of The Order of the Coif. After law school, I accepted a job as an associate at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. In that position, I worked on significant commercial loan transactions, the values of which were often well into the eight figure range. In 1999, I began working as an assistant district attorney with the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office in Decatur, Georgia. I tried over twenty-five felony trials with charges ranging from homicide to drug trafficking to complex white collar thefts.
For two years, I was the head of the entire White Collar Crime Unit and Asset Forfeiture Division in the second biggest county in Georgia. I was the first attorney in the county to successfully prosecute a RICO case and was given a special commendation by the Atlanta branch of the FBI for my work on two large scale white collar crime cases that involved victims all over the United States and a money trail that spanned two continents.
In 2005, I moved back to Jacksonville, Florida and accepted a job with Pajcic & Pajcic, P.A. handling all varieties of plaintiff's injury litigation from auto and truck accidents to medical and other professional malpractice and complex insurance coverage disputes. I have been involved in several lawsuits that resulted in recoveries of seven figures for the clients.
In 2008, I formed Shorstein & Lasnetski, LLC with my partner Jeremy Lasnetski, who was a prosecutor in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida for seven years. Our firm handles state and federal criminal defense matters, personal injury and wrongful death cases and business litigation.

We handle all personal injury and wrongful death matters including auto accidents, truck accidents, products liability, negligent security, professional malpractice and slip and falls.
We handle all criminal matters in state and federal courts for individuals and companies including white collar cases, drug cases, DUI's, violent crimes and all other felonies and misdemeanors.
We handle business/commercial litigation matters for companies who either have a claim against another company or have been sued by another company.
