I am a Florida and New York lawyer. I handle both criminal defense and personal injury cases. I moved to Florida in 2011. Most of my work is now in Florida but I still handle cases in New York as well.
In 2012 I won an important appeal on a felony drug case in New York, People v. DeYoung. Mr. DeYoung was accused of possessing 200 pounds of marijuana. The local judge refused to let him into the "Judicial Diversion" program. Although he was only sentenced to probation, we appealed on the diversion issue and won the case.
We also handle personal injury cases. In the late 1990s I was named a top trial lawyer by Allstate three times. In 2007 I won a $3.85M verdict on a motorcycle accident case.
One of our firm strengths is dealing with interstate concerns. Most cases, both criminal and personal injury, happen where all parties are from the same state. We have handled many cases for clients who are from other states or countries. There can be a number of problems for out-of-state clients and we have experience resolving them.

In the greater Albany area we handle felonies and misdemeanors, ranging from federal alien smuggling and drug cases to local court infractions. For criminal cases we are known for marijuana and drug cases. Warren has testified before the NYS legislature about implementation of the new law that favors treatment over incarceration. We are pursuing an appeal now (2011) on this issue. We also handle traffic and speeding tickets across upstate New York.
We focus on car and motorcycle accident cases involving serious injuries. In 2007 Warren won a $3.85M verdict arising out of a motorcycle/car accident where our client suffered a below-the-knee amputation. Warren was a trial lawyer in the late 1990s for Allstate and was three times named one of their top attorneys. We also handle dog bite cases and other types of personal injury as well.
We are one of the few firms that fights a lot of DWI cases. Many lawyers focus on trying to get their clients deals. We do try to get deals, but there are a growing number of cases where the deals are not good and the only sensible option is to fight. In 2010, Warren won a jury trial where the reported BAC was 0.16. We have won several cases on procedural issues (like speedy trial) and have gotten other cases thrown out on constitutional grounds.
