Arkansas Health Care Laws

Welcome to FindLaw's section on the Arkansas statutes pertaining to health care, including provisions that address privacy and patient rights. While the confidentiality of patients' medical data is protected federally through HIPAA, Arkansas also has its own laws that state who can and cannot access patient records. Other topics covered in this section include state abortion regulations, which define what is considered a legal abortion and how it must be procured; the laws governing living wills and the durable power of attorney; and physician-assisted suicide, which is not allowed in Arkansas.
