ORDER

Before the Court is the City of Dallas's Motion to Consolidate the original proceeding in cause number 05-18-00413-CV, In re City of Dallas with the direct appeal docketed as cause number 05-18-00289-CV, City of Dallas v. Heather Russell. We GRANT the motion.

We ORDER cause number 05-18-00413-CV CONSOLIDATED into cause number 05-18-00289-CV. We DIRECT the Clerk of Court to remove all documents from cause number 05-18-00413-CV and refile them in cause number 05-18-00289-CV and to treat cause number 05-18-00413-CV as a closed case. We ORDER that all future pleadings be filed in and bear only cause number 05-18-00289-CV.

By letter dated April 9, 2018, this Court requested jurisdictional briefing from the parties in cause number 05-18-00289-CV. The City of Dallas filed its jurisdictional letter brief on April 18, 2018. Appellee Heather Russell's jurisdictional briefing is currently due April 28, 2018. In light of this consolidation order, we VACATE the April 28, 2018 deadline for Appellee to respond to the City's jurisdictional briefing and ORDER Appellee to file a consolidated brief addressing all issues related to the appeal and the original proceeding, including the question of jurisdiction over each proceeding, by May 14, 2018. Appellant may file a consolidated reply brief as permitted by the rules of appellate procedure. We defer to the submissions panel to address each issue presented under the applicable standards.
