ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

On July 25, 2017, the Court held a case management conference, at which Plaintiff John Doe failed to appear. (Dkt. No. 46.) At the conference, Defendants informed the Court that Plaintiff failed to attend his deposition on July 21, 2017, despite the Court's July 7, 2017 order requiring Plaintiff's attendance.1 (Dkt. No. 43 at 1.)

Accordingly, Plaintiff is ORDERED TO SHOW CAUSE, in writing, by no later than August 11, 2017, why the case should not be dismissed for failure to prosecute. In the alternative, as Plaintiff has indicated to both the Court and Defendants that he intends to dismiss the case, Plaintiff may file a voluntary dismissal of the suit on or before August 4, 2017 to avoid dismissal and/or the imposition of sanctions. If Plaintiff files a voluntary dismissal, he need not also respond to the order to show cause.

IT IS SO ORDERED.

FootNotes

1. The Court also warned Plaintiff that "his failure to attend his deposition may result in sanctions, including the dismissal of his case." (Dkt. No. 43 at 1.)
