Case# 17CR576

Dear Judge Kovachevich:

As Steven Moore's mom, I know he had a hard time dealing with his father not being a part of his life. After I and his father divorced due to physical and mental abuse that I endured, he didn't want to accept that we were no longer together. I left Steve's father when Steve was 9 years old and although the courts ordered Mr. Moore to have visitation with his kids every other weekend, this was not the case. I taught his as good as I could. I would teach him from the word of God to ensure he knew right from wrong. As Steven began to mature, he hung around the wrong crowd and being a single parent who had to work to take care of my four (4) kids, I wasn't always at home to make sure he made the right decisions.

Steven is a good man; he learned how to weld from his father as he got older and he is, very goad at that. Steven acquired his GED from Macon Georgia at least some 15-20 years after he dropped out of school. Steven is always helping others who are less fortunate than he. Steven was married and his wife passed in May 2015. He now had the responsibility of his kids, their ages at that time was 6 months and 6 years old. Steven did a wonderful job of caring for his children, they were always with him and he always was taking them to the various attractions in Florida. I am aware that my son was placed under arrest for possession of drugs and because he was a felon, possession of a hand gun. After my son's wife passed, he sort of spiraled out of control but since he has been locked up, he have completed a Parenting Class while at Polk County Jail because he realized now that his kids are the most important thing to him now; He realizes that his children are his first priority.

My son stated that they are thinking about giving him 6-7 years for the crimes he committed, I feel that is a little harsh and I am asking for leniency that those years be reduced. I know his kids miss him because they cry when they get off the phone with their Dad. The youngest child, Stephon says, "I miss my dad and I try to comfort him. His daughter cries at least every month that her father is not here and she is delighted when he calls her.

I am a 63 year old woman fighting with Cancer that has returned. I'm currently on medication to see if the cancer will go into remission. I love my Grandkids and if my son doesn't come home anytime soon, I will continue to care for them the best way I can.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. 1 will appreciate any help you can assist me with.

Sincerely;

Sherri C Moore
