I am a freelance artist, just starting to get major clients(government contracting, major corporations, etc). I just created a pattern for a client to use as a logo. A patter to be used as an in tact image.

The client(film production team) paid me for the single image and is now proposing to have another artist separate the individual parts comprising the pattern/logo, independently and profiting off of them separately as multiple, stand-alone pieces of art.

I continue to tell them that this is outside of our agreement, and definitely not what I was compensated for.

Where should I go from here? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is it possible for authors to preregister future book title (vol. 3) only without sending the completed book to the copyright office to secure the book title? The book won't be ready until 2017. I want to secure my book title only at this moment.

I also found that an editor copied my book title (vol. 1) in 2014 to write her article title. My book title appeared in my domain registration and homepage which I posted since 2012 for advertisement. I registered the book copyright in Jan. 2015 since the book was published in Dec. 2014.

Can I ask the editor to remove my book title which the editor copied and used as her journal title from her homepage with my domain registration information (2012) for the book title?

We had our website stolen by former employees in India. We have filled civil suit and injunction petition in India. The site which had the stolen content was bought down using the details after DMCA notice in Feb 2014 when it was hosted in Dream Host LLC.

The same site is now hosted again in Name Cheap. This hosting provider is not acting promptly on our details. They are not responding to our mails ever after we have shared all the required details.

1. What problems would I encounter if I register my book with nickname which is not my legal name in terms of copyright matter?

2. If I publish my book with my nickname without registering the copyright, will it cause disadvantage in the future? If yes, what is the disadvantage?

We created a DBA under our parent corporation for a new retail store concept back in April 2014. The location opened up Aug 1st, 2014. We just found out someone else just opened an exact same type of store under the exact same name two weeks ago in the same state (NY) but different county. We own the domain names and records of starting the business started back in the early spring and clearly we're established before they where. Can we Cease and Desist? Do we have the rights to this name? They are located in our advertising area and we believe this had to of been intentional. We did not put in for the trademarks yet, however we do mark all logos and advertisements with a TM. . We did an thorough search throughout the US and no one had any trademarks or patents using it for anything including retail. It was free and clear. Then they pop up months later. They are in our advertising area (we do allot of radio.) Thanks in advance!

I am submitting a copyright of a graphic design piece that has many variations due to state abbreviations ie. CA, NY etc. The idea is the same for each one and they all basically look the same except for the abbreviation letters. Should I submit a lot of variations as one piece? How can I just protect the idea as a blanket for all abbreviations?

I got a designer to make a parody of the coco cola logo and they gave the commercial rights. Can I use it in my clothing line?

The design has the red circle and bubbles, but the bottle is of a woman and the coco cola font he made.
