I have moved out at the expiration of the lease and gave the required notice, but he has not reurned my money or given any reason.

I have given a cheque to person for settling a property issue, which he is also involved. He was unable to settle the issue and not returned the cheque. He produced the cheque in March 2007 and it got dishonored. So far he is not gone for any legal actions. If he file a civil suit under NI act, can i prove my innocence. Mortgage deficiency judgement & Bankruptcy

I foreclosed on 2 homes in 2006. In both cases the 2nd lender got nothing, and have pursued me for the deficiency. One of the lenders is trying to get a judgement against me for $40K, and I know the other 2nd lender will soon follow suit as well to the tune of $200K. I have little income and no assets.

Should I consider filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy instead of wasting money fighting the deficiency litigation in court? What course should I follow?

DIvorced and filing chapter 7

I am filing a chapter 7. In my divorce my ex-husband was given sole responsibility for the house and boat. I signed a quit claim deed on the house, but my name still appears on both loans. Do I still list these as creditors? Would the be listed as my assets? Do I have to do anything else so he doesn't lose them?

Chapter 7...Removable after 7 or 10 years

I filed Chapter 7 in March 2001. At the time I was told I would be able to remove it from my credit in 7 years. Now, however, as I'm doing some online research, the timeframe seems to have moved to 10 years. Is that a reflection of the change in BK laws in 2005? Since I filed in 2001 will the 10-year statute still apply to me? Thanks.
