If I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002 could you please tell me how long it stays on my credit report for? I thought the law back then said 7 years but need to know for sure. Thank you.

I plan on filing chapter 7 pro se due to lack of funds. I own a 2005 Chevy clear, with a Blue Book Value of 10,800. If they take my car, I can't get to work and will be homeless. Is ther any way around this?

Last January, I filed a chapter 13 Bankruptcy. At that time my credit score was 570. It is currently 640 as of this September. As I right now, I need to rent to own a laptop as I do not have enough money to buy one yet and I need one, and after going to an electronics store , I found I could do just that. However, even though my credit score is good enough, WILL they FINANCE ME WITH BANKRUPTCY for a laptop?? Please let , me know asap. If their okay w/a bankruptcy, then there shouldn't be no problem since my score is good enough, but I'm not sure since the guy there said they do a credit check. Please let me know asap. Thanks

My husband lost a civic lawsuit for a huge amount, the creditor already taken our cars and house, but still not enough, the purpose of write-off the lawsuit, my husband filed bankruptcy in couple month ago, but the creditor filed a suit against his bankruptcy. We do not know what he should to do, and we do not have any assets and money, also my husband do not have a job. I am very worry, I want know how can we get out from the lawsuit? What is the worst result? he is over 50 years old and we have a 10 years old boy, I am still work.

Is it possible my husband will go to jail for the penalty?

Is my husband can apply unemployment benefits because he is a debtor ? What I should to do?

Return of personal property after business closes

My son's ski boat has been in for warranty work for 3 weeks ago. He took it to the dealer where he purchased it last year and the work was all to be completed without charge. Among other things the stereo was to be replaced without charge. The dealer apparently trailered his boat to a sub-contracted for this service. The boat, trailer and skis are today at this subcontractors shop.

The dealer called my son today to say that they are out of business. All funds are frozen. They shared the sub-contractors contact information. My son called this sub-contractor and they refuse to release the boat because they are owed monies from the dealer.

I need next steps or a strategy Do i need a lawyer or a cop on this matter.
