Group Eligibility

I am an underwriter for a large insurance company. A question has come up surrounding a potential risk. There is a large home mortgage company that would like to provide free Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage to purchasors of a mortgage. The question surrounds weather mortgage account holders qualify as an eligible group in the state of Virginia. The individual mortgage holders would be the beneficiary NOT the mortgage company. Any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated.

Business Insurance Claim

I have Nationwide Insurance. I had a break-in into my company van, which sits in my drive, on October 14, 2008. The thief stole approx. $3000.00 worth of A/V equipment and computers. The insurance claims agent sent me a packet to fill out, including a waiver to allow them total and unfettered access to ALL my financial records with ALL my financial institutions, including banking, electric co., gas co, mortgage co., savings, telephone co., credit bureaus, other insurance companies, etc. I do not feel comfortable giving them this complete access to my financial life. What can I do?

Dog bite question

A family came over to pick out a puppy I was giving away. This family wanted a dog that would be a guard dog, and I told them that the mom and her brother were great guard dogs and I felt like the puppies would be also. When I picked up one of the puppies it started yelping. My son's dog nipped a the daughter and took about a dime size piece of skin off her thigh. They took her to the hospital and she got 2 stiches. I went to the hospital and was with them the entire time until she was discharged about two hours later. The daughter said she still wanted a puppy but the mom said no. I called my insurance immediately and opened a claim. My insurance contacted them to get information. I found out today (from the mom) that they had no intentions of collecting any costs from us and had paid out of pocket what their insurance didn't pay. This is no longer true now that they know I have insurance. Now they see there is money available their attitude has totally changed. What can I expect to happen from here? The adjuster has submitted their report, but insurance hasn't received it yet.

health care deduction

My husband started a job 11/07 with the benefit of paid health insurance. This past paycheck, he had a health ins. deduction of $411.00. When he questioned payroll, he was told that he had owed past due insurance of over $4000.00 and that the employer was told to deduct this amount weekly until paid in full. He was given no notification of this, and us hurt us financially. This is a small construction company with under 100 employees. When he questioned his boss,he said he would just look into it with no definitive answer. Can they do this?

A truck had parked next to my car got on fire burned my front bumper and my fender on my car. The fire rescue was there. I called the person insurance, they told me they're not going to fix my car because it was not a collision. I don't think that fair at all; i need some one to help with this situation .

Bell South Retiree Medical Insurance

My husband retired from Bell South, now AT&T, with full medical benefits with co-pays. Since AT&T has taken over Bell South, AT&T has changed retiree insurance to a different company than active employees. Bell South retirees and family members now have to pay a $300 deductible and approximately $1300 each out-of-pocket expenses, whereas, active employees still have the same benefits they did with Bell South with no deductibles or out-of-pocket expenses except for co-pays. My husband worked 30 years for these benefits and has a contract with Bell South, where his benefits are the same as active employees. I would like to know if AT&T is legally responsible for honoring that contract. Thank you.

My mother owned a truck and another person hit this truck, my mother is now deceased. How do I get the money from the insurance company. I don't want to pay an attorney and go to probate.

Homeowners Insurance Fraud

I had an existing homeowners policy and another insurance company somehow, without our consent, instated an additional policy to my Mortgage company. This resulted in having two homeowner's policies and two payments being made out of my escrow. I have not recieved a refund and they keep giving me the run around. Can I sue them for fraud?

auto accident

I was at fault in a car accident, i had insurance, but my insurance company cancelled it due to my D.L expired, it has not, they used my old MD number and I have a FL license now, they admitted to the mistake, but will not pay for the accident, what do I do now.

Automobile property damage

my car was parked and a woman hit my car. She admitted fault and came and actually told me she hit my car. Her insurance company Allstate has told me that they only have to pay the amount of damage up to the deductible on my own auto insurance. I am in school in Univ Michigan, but my car is registered and insured in Florida. Is Allstate telling me the truth and if so is there a statute I can look at to verify what they are telling me?

Automobile Wreck with no insurance.

I was in Florida on business. Here is the situation.

My boss owned a truck. He sold it to my co-worker, but my co-worker never transferred the title, and my boss canceled the insurance.

I was given the truck to use while in town, and was under the impression it had insurance.

I took off from a two way stop sign, and a driver on the other road drove in front of me, and I hit them.

I don't have the money to pay for this, and the only asset I have is a non-running car worth about $2000.

The insurance company called and said it's around $5000 in property damages and medical bills are still to come.

They said if I can't do anything to pay for it, I and my co-worker can lose our drivers license.

This happened in Florida, my drivers license is from Texas, and I live in Oklahoma.

What are my options? Who is the person responsible for paying? What can they do to me?

I llive in Fl and my health insurance is BCBS of Illinois. The state is a mandate state for fertility. Should they cover some cost of my fertility?

House Fire and Insurance Payments

My insurance company agreed to reimburse me for meals eaten out and meal expenses over and above my normal expenses (which is $150.00 per week). However, when I submitted my expenses they included meals out and some grocery bills for normal things that would be included in the $150.00. They refused to consider any bills from the grocery store. Isn't this double dipping by them or am I just not understanding

Insurance carrier is wrongly accusing me of having a meth lab

Nine months ago I accidently started a grease fire.The fire dept & arson investigators determined the cause of the fire accidental.The day after the fire the insurance co stated that 100% of the contents inside had been destroyed due 2 excessive heat, smoke and water damage.Results of the initial testing showed that the levels of asbestos, lead, mercury and carbon were low and safe for remediation.

A month later we were mailed the results of a meth-lab analysis report that was performed.This report showed results that R higher than the allowable levels.Surely this claim is false!

I have done extensive research & know that the testing company was not qualified 2 do so & the tester himself is not certified or licensed by the state of CA.Reviewing the chemical-related compounds that make meth, I now realize how many common cleaning products and Rx meds R used.This is alarming as we had many of the items listed stored in the kitchen-on each side of the stove where the fire began.

Has this occurred elsewhere or am I setting an example?I have 2 think that because of the chemicals in my kitchen, the results could mimic those of a test for meth chemicals.I have no criminal record nor do I or anyone in my family manufacture meth!

cancelled insurance policy

In feb. 2008 i took out an auto policy. One week later i called and cancelled it. Two months later money was still being deducted from my account towards this policy. I called them and they were saying they did not know i cancelled and ask for info. from the car dealership saying i did not have the vehicle which i faxed to them as requested. Two weeks ago i found out they were still deducting money from my account totalling $770.00. I again called, and again the policy is active and again i sent the info. requested.

Today i called and they are saying they can only give me the last deduction back. Is there any thing i can do?

texas workers comp

i signed dwc 24 benefit agreemnet to get back pay that states the wrist was compensable and the cervical and carpal tunnel wasn't caused by the compensable injury.it has nothing about pre exisiting carpal tunnel can this be compensable if aggravated by the compensable injury.

Wrecked not my fault and just found out my insurance lapsed

I was in a car accident that was not my fault (and have a police report to verify) and I just found out my insurace lapsed. My husband thought I was paying and I had specifically asked him to be reponsible. Am I now liable, even though she was at fault? Will her insurance company still fix my car?
