claim on my uninsured motorist

My parked car was hit by a hit-and-run driver in her own neighboorhood. She parked her car at her home and refused to open the door to the police who answered my call. Not wanting to wait for her, I filed under my own UIM coverage.

My 'total loss adjuster' are near a settlement figure, after a few weeks of going-round-in-circles.

But now, my original adjuster has been able to locate the offending driver's insurance company, who admits liability (my total loss adjuster hasn't yet been informed of this). I would rather continue my claim under my own UIM, rather than contact an adversarial insurance company and begin discussions anew, with an even less helpful adjuster.

Do I even have this choice? Or will my insco force me to start anew with the offending party? I am afraid that the opposing adjuster won't accept the quote that my own adjuster is giving me without further investigation, delay, and hassle. I'd prefer to have my own insco pay me first, then seek reimbursement, rather than my having to pursue it myself.

I was waiting for the car in front of me to move, when car moved I started to move. A van from the right side cut in front of me and swiped my front passenger bumper. He damaged the back side of his van by the tire. He wasn't going to stop and we had to follow him to his employer. Who would be at fault.

I rented a car and the parked car was hit. The person who hit me stopped. A police report was filed, etc. There were no injuries.

I returned the car, filled out an accident report, and was told someone would contact me. A week later nobody has contacted me. I have called but nobody will give me any information or explain the process to me. I have left messages for the manager, but he isn't returning my calls. They say it could take 3+ months for someone to contact me. My rental contract is still open and I am being charged for the car. They have not asked for the police report # or for the info of the man who hit me.

They have assured me that I am resp. for the damages, however. I believe that my ins. coverage (thru my credit card co.) will pay for the damages, and then work with the ins. co. of the man who hit me. But I only have 90 days to file a claim. I have a list of items I need from the rental car co. to file my claim. I am worried about getting these items since I cannot even get a returned phone call.

The rental agency is indep. owned, so the corp. office is of no help. The car rental and accident happened in Utah. I live in Arizona

Recently my 19 years old son had--name removed--accident. He hit another vehicle in the back. The other driver admitted it was its fault since He made--name removed--sudden stop.

My son is not cover by my insurance policy.

Car pulled out infront of me while I was riding motorcycle

Woman with no drivers license in a 2007 Chrysler 300 pulled out infront of me while I was riding my motorcycle. I had the right of way and she admitted fault. She gave the officer an insurance card that showed it was vaid, but i called and found out she droped coverage back in Jan. It is her husbands car and to my knowledge he doesnt have insurance either. The car is financed through Capital One Auto Finance. What are my options here? I talked to a lawyer and he told me that finance companies normally have insurance that covers their cars if the driver lets theirs lapse. Is this true? How would I go about finding out this information? My bike is really messed up and my neck has been stiff for a week now. Really need some help. Thanks.

Accident Settlement

My husband was involved in a car accident in which the other person took full responsibility. In MD, the bills have been paid by our insurance company. The injury he had was a ligament in his hand ripped in half and he had surgery to sew the ligament together. He seems to have no permanent injury other than an ugly scar and a lump of scar tissue but can use the hand fine. The insurance company is calling this week to offer us a settlement and to be honest, I don't want to rip them off but also don't want to be taken advantage of because he did go through a lot of pain. I signed a credit application with a personal guaranty hidden in it. I was forced to sign, not knowing their was any personal guaranty. What is my defense. Filling out pre-trial memorandum. Need defense.

Water Damage

The water damage control company that our insurance company sent out finished the dry-out process of our home, saying everything was dry and ready for re-construction. A week later, the contractor we hope to use inspected and found the underside of the home was still soaked. The adjuster and the dry-out company agreed and they began the dry out process again. Now, 2 months into this mess, we are smelling foul musty odors. Does this sound like the dry-out company made a mistake, possibly a big one? What is our recourse and what do we do next? My father passed, I was the sole beneficiary for his life insurance policy. Without my knowledge my sister submitted a change of beneficiary form to the insurance company naming herself as the primary ben. Two months have passed and I got a call from the insurance informing me that they received that form but it was not dated and it was received after the date of death. They will not administer proceeds because it is a competing claim. How can it even be considered a valid claim? Does she have rights to do that or is that fraud?

I had accident on my car on June 2007. It is hond civic 2007.It was my fault but i was covered my insurance paid about 10500 to the repairshop,Now it is may2008 and he still didnt finish the job yet.The only thing left are airbags. In the mean time I used his car for a couple of months it was an old car with no AC, It broke down, and he is blaming that I didnt put engine oil so it broke down. liability issue

I was at an event for my company in Nevada at a well known hotel.

We had left some merchandise there overnight as the set up was the day before the actual event.

Although various paperwork stated that the hotel could not be held responsible for any stolen items, the same paperwork stated that guards and security cameras would be present at all times.

Of course upon our arrival into the ball room were the event was going to take place, we noticed pieces were stolen.

How valid is the “the hotel cannot be held responsible” if they promised guards and cameras.
