how do I collect $8,000 that I invested in a company in 2003 that has still not been able to pay me back. I have a simple one page contract that states I was to be receiving payments as of Sep 2004. To date I have not received one penny and every time I have contacted this person regarding this I am pacified with some answer to defer paying me later. I do not want to wait anymore. Trading on Margin

Can an online broker like Etrade be held liable if they allowed you to purchase stock on margin that they had listed as a non marginable secruity. Etrade had FNM (Fannie Mae) listed as a non-marginable secruity but they allowed me to purchase 20,000 shares after hours on Sept. 5th at an average price of about $6.75 and when it opened for trading on Sept. 8 after the Government took them over, Etrade sold all my shares at $1.18 due to a margin call. This resulting in me losing over $40,000 of my money plus I now owe them over $63,000 in my margin account. If they would have prohibited me from buying this secruity using margin funds, I would still have about $5,000 of my own money and I wouldn't owe them any margin funds.

I invested a substantial amount of money in 3 annuities thru a financial adviser. I have been losing monies since I purchased them. Can I legally cash them in without incurring substancial loss of principle?

Asset backed investment

My husband and I were talked into an ''asset backed'' investment, promising to guarantee the principle, 10% return annually for a period of 5 years. We recently received a letter stating that the ''program'' has been discontinued and that the interest payments would cease. Also, we were told our only option was to convert the investment into fractional real estate. We don't want to do that and we would like to get our principle back. The contract term ends in 2010. Can we demand our principle, and do we have to wait until 2010? Thanks!

A small group of investors with over $1,000,000 in investments can not get any kind of straight answer from the company invested in. It has been this way about 4 months now. Lately, we have been told the money is lost.

We all knew the possibility of a risky invesmtent, but this smells very much like fraud in that we don't get any answers are dodged and delayed as often as possible.

This company is based in Tennessee with all the investors scattered throughout the country.

1) The first question is, do we have any right to see the accounting books and what would it take to see them?

2) What does it take to get the FBI or DA to investigate this company and its owner? We have tried, but no one seems to care or be doing anything.

3) if an attorney is required, would it be best to get one in Tennessee near the business, or does that matter?

4) What are the chances we can recover losses and find out the truth?

5) How much can we expect to spend in just trying to find out the truth?

Bizarre Futures Exchange Market Order

Hello and thank you for reading.

In January, I placed an order to sell 10 DAX at the market. I have the recording, the sound quality is excellent. But EUREX treated the order as if some quote request was triggered.

No fill! While the exchange maintains there was sufficient liquidity, my order was not even accepted by the system.

Market orders are chosen when price is of secondary importance. Speed of execution is the key! The market dropped soon after leading to a verified potential loss of more than 1500 points times 250 Euros = $ 357.

My broker is in CA. they are not members of the exchange. and despite promises from their VP, I never heard how the order was entered and routed and who the member was who handled the placement.

More important than the loss of about $ 550,000 is the s y s t e m i c flaw by the exchange.

Q: What should be done about this?

college fund stolen

My great grandmother started a zero % coupon investment for my college fund when I was born. My father (who is not involved in my life now or ever) was named the trustee many years ago and now is refusing to give me any information on the account. My fear is that the money is gone. Is there any law that prohibits him from using the money without my knowledge? or am I out of luck?

bank forces employee's spouse to hold stock for 30 days or more

My wife works for a bank, which recently enforces a policy that restricts me from selling any stocks that I buy within thirty days of purchase. I have suffered financial losses time and again because I had to hold money losing positions that I would have sold earlier had I not been required to hold them for at least thirty days. Can the bank legally enact such a policy? Isn't it interfering with interstate commerce (as I live in California and my brokerage firms and the NYSE are out of state)? Is the bank violating my civil right to conduct commerce freely and legally?
