A girl recently asked me to fly out and see her for her birthday. Then she left me high and dry. Before I left, she told me over and over that I could stay with her, but I ended up staying in a hotel the whole time. Is she in any way responsible for my expenses?

legal malpractice

my former personal injury attorney swindled nearly half my settlement by claiming that medical recovered the maximum allowed by law.

i contacted medical and as another attorney at the time suggested that given my circumstances they would not seek to recover any expenses. medical did not recover any expenses.

i was working with a company called vozzcom here in miami, they are a subcontractor for comcast cable. i was fired due on the grounds that i took home a cable box and ordered pay per view movies. adult movies at that, i have never been so humiliated in my life nor have i ever done such said thing. i was wondering if this is proper action taken against me. if not what action shouled i take. tahnk you for your time.

Timing of Invoice

Negligence

while sitting in my truck, with the window down, I was punched in the face by a complete stranger in a Wal-Mart Parking lot/there are security cameras in the prkng. lot and security patrol. I did nothing to provoke this attack, I swear on my life. Blood was pouring out of my nose and I could feel it dripping/ I pull along side of a security truck and said ''I need help'' she said nothing then turned around and looked at the vehicle that had pulled up behind our trucks and saw the driver, it was the same vehicle that my attacker was a passenger in/ I don'tknow why they pulled up behind us. After she looked at them, she the looked at me and said ''Do you have a cell phone?'', I said ''Yes'', she says ''call 911'', then turned away from me. I know she had a radio in her truck as I saw her talking to someone on it when i pulled up to her. The bottom line here, is...The police did not want to help me, the security company covered their asses and said that the guard I named was not working that night and a male guard was on duty at that time. Even though I had spoken with a manager who read me the info i reqstd off a clipbrd in his truck/According to a recent article this is the 7th most dangerous Wal-Mart store in the country/what can I do

Failure to Notify Federal Court of Attorney Representation

We hired my attorney for one case and signed a retainer agreement. Our attorney then began working for us on another federal case in which we received a settlement award but had not been able to collect. Our attorney has charged us over 20,000 and now says he is not going to represent us. He says he does not have to request removal from the case from the federal court as he is not acknowledged as our attorney. I have gotten him to admit he had a conference call with the defendant's attorney and federal court clerk discussing a requst for a settlement conference. So.... what steps should our attorney have taken to notify the court he is representing us - and based on the information I have presented does the court recognize him as our attorney of record - based on your answer what steps should the attorney take to remove himself as our attorney. Also, the attorney has taken action against our writtan requests and has run up legal fees without our consent. I have also found out he is billing us for administrative tasks as he acts as his own administrative support staff - he does not have an attorney! Help please!

Fraud

I was led to believe that the degree I am persuing would be valid for law enforcement employment. I was told today by a government agent that my degree will be worthless for this type of employment. I have multiple loans to pay for the education that I can not pay if I do not get a degree that will get me better pay. Is there anything that I can do? Is this legal?

We recently learned a notary had a

witness to sign our mortgage after

the closing was over. We have no idea who this person is, but they did not witness our signatures. The

law states a witness has to be present on deeds and mortgages.

Missed Appointment Fee in Southern California

My husband had a dentist appointment where he was taking the spot of another who canceled their appointment. The appointment was for the next day of calling for family appointments. After confirming appointment with Husband after business hours, it was decided he couldn't go. I called before office hours the next day (note we're talking made an appointment in less than a 24 hour time period), and now their billing me 299 dollars for a missed appointment. Is this legal?, what are our options?

a guy keeps calling me at work about a 5 year old debt that I was unable to repay (credit card) unsecured....he says he has been hired and wants to make a deal...I told him I can't do anything now and he wants to take a recorded statement...should I go through with that...??? I keep telling him he is not allowed to call me at work and he is yelling, name calling etc.. and disrupting me at the office..He is relentless...Can he continue to call me at work and should I just let him take a recorded statement telling him I can't pay them back..

vacation pay upon termination

Company handbook states an employee must work out his notice before of pay for accrued vacation days. With carryover days from the previous year plus the 15 I am entitled to in 2008, I have over 25 days built up. He fired my on April 28 stating I had a tax business on the side, which I do not. I was given no time to work out a notice. I was ordered off his property then. He now refuses to pay my vacation time because I did not work out my notice time. Is this legal in the State of Virginia? Thank you for your time.

Duplicate paychecks

Hello, I have been working with a

company for four years and was

given by my employer two duplicate

pay checks and cashed them. A year

later the business owner came to me

and informed me that i should have

questioned the checks and not

cashed them. Therefor i was fired and

my last paycheck was kept to cover

the balance of the duplicate pay

periods. Now he is taking legal action

against me and also trying to stop

me from receiving unemployment.

These checks were given to me by

the wife of the owner which was

authorized to sign and give out the

paychecks. Is it my fault?

County employee question

I work for a local county agency in Oregon and in the last 6 months have been treated very badly.I have had to take time off work because of the way things are.I was promised a position from my boss and then ended up not getting it and she said the reason I did not get it is because I have children and am planning a wedding so it takes up too much of my time, although I have never missed a day of work because of my children or my wedding.The next day I saw her she said it was because I couldn't handle the job, but she had me doing the job for 6 months before it came open and when asked why she had me covering and doing the job she said because she new I wanted to the job but wasn't going to give it to me. Now, some staff in the office will walk by my desk and snicker and laugh and my boss is now demoting me because I don't smile is what she said. She will come into meetings and use the F* word.My fiance also works at the office and she has told me that I am not allowed to talk with him outside of work about work. I have told my boss repeatedly that I have too much work and that I can't do everything so she keeps adding more.I think she is trying to drive me out and want to know if there is anything I can do to stop the behavior.
