I got into an argument with a hotel clerk at a Hotel 6 about room service (I didn't get any). I wanted to get a discount on the rate for one night. He refused and said they have up until 12 midnight to clean the room. I pulled out my camera phone and started to video tape him and asked him to repeat that so I could record him. He asked me if the video was working and I told him it was. He then jumped over the counter and physically revealed me of my phone to stop it from recording. He gave back the phone immediately after. Who was assaulted: me or him?

Police enter yard with dogs

The police entered my yard in pursuit of a B&E suspect without my persmission and my dog went out and barked at them. The dog did not attack-just barked very aggressively until I came out of the house a few minutes later.

If I was not home and the dog attacked the police, can they shoot the dog or taser the dog or use mace on the dog. The USPS has used mace on dogs for a long time. Will the police do that first as opposed to shooting a dog?

How to get papers/court documents from attorney?

My friend who has been incarcerated for 6 years would like to get all of his papers from his case. The attorney will not give his mom all the papers from his case.

What do we need to do to get the documents from this attorney. He has promised his mom he would have them ready in 2 weeks, but then he will never answer phone calls. I even hand delivered a document he had notorized in prison to the attorney to return the documents and records to him but he has not done it. This has gone on for too long. I even talked to the attorney and he said my friend just needs to let him know who he wants him to give them to. But then nothing.......What can we do to get the documents and evidence?

I was hired at a restaurant and told I would receive a certain hourly wage as well as a certain percentage in tips. I have been employed with these agreed upon wages for 3 months. They now imformed me today, that that will change as of tomorrow- a reduction in both. I was told by the exec. chef that ''legally the tips belong to the restaurant and that they are a gift to the servers''.

Can they reduce wages that we agreed to upon hire, and is the fact true that legally the tips belong to the restaurant?

I work at a firm for two attorneys Partners). One partner has asked me several times to bill on her individual letterhead for work she and I have done during regular business hours. One invoice in particular was for over $40,000.00 (an estate for which a majority of the work was done by me). She then deposits these funds into her personal account. I don't know if this is just a morally ''gray'' area, or if it is actually unethical according to the State of New Jersey.

What are my legal rights if I loaned money to a friend and the friend does not want to repay the loan? I have a signed promissory note, however it has been two years and the person has not repaid the loan. How do I go about recouping the money?

Notary Unprofessionalism

A mobile notary which handled the signing of our loan docs failed to return the docs to the lender at the agreed time. This caused us to miss a closing & funding deadline and resulted in the denial of our loan. We are in foreclosure and this was our only chance of obtaining a buyer for our property. We are now facing losing our home. Is there any way she can be held responsible for this? Is this an errors and omissions violation? Please advise. Thank you.

A company used my 16 yr old daughters name and picture to advertise their male enhancement product on the internet on her myspace, it was very degrading and humiliating to her. Who is responable for injury

I need your help in answering a question. My son was picked up in a church van and taken to church where he played football with the youth group. He broke his fingers when receiving a pass. He was on church property. The church notified us that our son had been hurt and gave us the option to come and take him to the hospital or meet them there. We choose to pick him and take him to the hospital. Who is responsible for the bill? Is this the same situation as the schools here? What I mean is, the school is responsible for children from the time they exit the bus until they arrive at thier home. Would this apply in this situation? Would the church have the same responsability to ensure my childs saftey until he arrived back home? This will cost us about $2000.00 or more, with the ER visit, the Orthopedic visit, as there maybe more damage then seen at the ER, the meds, our time in lost work following up with his injury.
