Prior to my second year of graduate school I submitted an application with the University of Florida to have myself reclassified as an in-state resident for tuition purposes. My family permanently relocated to Palm Beach in July 2015, so I believed that there would be no issues with reclassifying for the semester beginning August 2016. The UF reclassification policy requires in-state residency for a period of one-year before an out-of-state student can begin to receive in-state benefits. However, the university did not immediately accept my application. Instead, they opted to dispute my residency. Adam was extremely helpful in assisting me with the tuition dispute. After consulting with a few other lawyers in town, I felt comfortable retaining Adam. As a double Gator, I knew that he would have my best interests as a student at heart and also that he had a great understanding of the university's processes and procedures with regards to my tuition issue. Adam was incredibly professional throughout the entire process. He spent a great deal of time researching Florida statutes to ensure that I collected a plethora of documentation that would ensure my appeal would be a success. Furthermore, he was always readily available for a phone call, no matter the time of day or night. I felt that he put me, as a client, first. His hard work paid off. He was extremely sympathetic to my cause and ensured me that he would do everything possible to resolve my dispute. Adam worked against a tight deadline imposed by the University of Florida for the appeal process, but he did not disappoint. I submitted all of his suggested documentation, including an extremely well-written cover letter that he supplied, to the university. Within 24 hours my issue was resolved and I was re-classified as an in-state resident. Without Adam's hard work, I am not sure that I would have been able to receive my reclassification on this appeal attempt. I may have been forced to wait an entire semester until I could again apply for reclassification, which would have imposed financial hardship on me and my family. I am extremely grateful for everything Adam did and I know that if I have another issue in the future, even one that is not related to my education, that he will be the first lawyer that I call.
