I graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1997. Since then I have concentrated my practice in the areas of education law, governmental liability, and medical malpractice defense. I also serve as a Peer Review Hearing Officer pursuant to the Healthcare Quality Improvement Act. My cases include state and federal court matters, and I am admitted to the Northern and Middle Federal District Courts. I have tried cases in state and federal courts in Florida and argued appeals before the state District Court of Appeals, the Florida Supreme Court, and the federal Circuit Court of Appeals. My experience representing school districts in court and as general counsel has led to my expertise in the area of Education law. I am recognized by the Florida Bar as a board certified specialist on this topic.
After growing up in Gainesville, I am delighted to continue to live and work in my hometown. Away from the office you can find me training on Gainesville's roads and trails for an upcoming race.

I am a board certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in Education Law. I represent school districts in day to day matters as general counsel and in litigation regarding the many legal issues that confront educational institutions.
I represent school districts, community colleges, universities, law enforcement agencies, agency officials and other government entities in their individual and representative capacities. I defend all manner of state law claims involving negligence, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents. In addition, I defend claims alleging civil rights violations, excessive force, search and seizure, and 42 U.S.C. Section 1983.
I have defended physicians, nurses, other allied healthcare professionals, hospitals and outpatient facilities, often in cases involving significant economic and non-economic damages. I have provided representation in cases involving hospital policy and procedure issues including credentialing.
