Don Mihokovich serves on the Firm’s Appellate and Litigation Teams, and also serves as an assistant Claims Counsel to the Firm. Don has substantial experience as a litigator in all phases of the litigation process, including both federal and state trials, appeals, mediations and arbitrations. His litigation and appellate experience includes complex business, products liability, real estate, land use, intellectual property, covenants not to compete, trade secrets, insurance, and construction disputes. Don’s products liability experience includes five years of serving as a member of a product liability defense team for a major tobacco company.
Don’s appellate practice includes representation of clients in numerous cases in Florida and federal appellate courts, including:
- A real estate developer in a comprehensive plan challenge regarding a thirty story residential tower in downtown Tampa;
- A large homeowners' association in preventing development of hundreds of residential units on an existing private golf course;
- A retail and hotel developer in a case of first impression regarding ownership of density and intensity in a Development of Regional Impact;
- An electronics manufacturer in a recent patent infringement case before the Federal Circuit;
- A major, national bank in several appeals.
Don is a member of Mensa, Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key National Honor Society. While in law school, he was Articles Editor of The Akron Law Review. Don has also served as a member of the Florida Bar News/Journal Editorial Board and has written for a Florida Bar Publication entitled Florida Civil Trial Practice.
Don has been recognized by the Supreme Court of Florida, the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, and the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association for exceptional pro bono service, and has served as Vice Chair of the 13th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee.
