  Hired attorney , anonymous  Nov. 26, 2018
Do not choose Shavitz Law Firm - Here’s why!

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS LAW FIRM IN BOCA RATON like I did! Shavitz, his partners and firm may perhaps be the worst decision I ever made in any kind of legal representation for class action in labor law. I was originally referred to Gregg Shavitz by his colleague and fellow attorney, Chris M. Salamone (Attorney & associate of famous ponzi schemer & attorney, Scott Rothstein.). I wish I had not hired Gregg Shavitz and his firm. As Shavitz’ client, I worked with them for more than 3 years negotiating terms for a labor law class action settlement suit. I had a very NEGATIVE experience working with Gregg Shavitz. This attorney did NOT care about protecting any of my rights and interests- he cared only about making money for his firm and getting my signature on all forms and documents without properly explaining the terms or my right to me, even when I would ask questions. Rather, Gregg Shavitz would get agitated or annoyed with my asking of questions about each important document! Mr. Gregg Shavitz crossed boundaries to get my signature at all costs for him to win- even when it meant fraud and negligence and misleading me on false pretense. I have been asking for an entire copy of my file for at least or more than 10 days now. After the case was turned in to the settlement administration company, I learned that Shavitz actually omitted two (2) very extremely important documents (of this federal case) that were pertinent in protecting my rights, my anonymity, and to prevent mass harassment. These documents were a very strict term to me signing and agreeing to any settlement and yet Mr. Shavitz was very negligent and did not submit these with the rest of the documents! Because of this, I ended up suffering more damages and my attorney, Gregg Shavitz, offered no solution or assistance to help correct the major mistake he had made in not submitting the two critical documents! This really shocked me! His negligence and sloppiness in a federal case like this was truly not what I expected from him after working with him for 3 long years. I was the lead plaintiff in the case and with Shavitz as my attorney and a settlement being granted, I should have been left in a better position, not worse. Yet, because of the poor judgement I made in trusting Gregg Shavitz, Michael Palitz and Chris Salamone as attorneys and my counsel, and because of Shavitz’ fraudulent scheme to omit the actual real documents with my signature on it, I was left to face massive harassment and cyber-bullying at a debilitating level for my personal and professional life. Moreover, I believe Shavitz' ethics should be fully questioned by the State Bar, as well as the numerous other acts that I consider fraudulent, including the manner in which he obtained my signature for the settlement and what was offered in exchange for it. I do NOT recommend this attorney to anyone in the world! In my experience of being a client for over three (3) years, I was fraudulently and blindly taken advantage of to the point that even the Mew York Times has been in touch with me. And trying to get a copy of all your files is an endless attempt. I have been trying and at this point, the Bar may have to step in to expedite this very serious situation. BEWARE, please, everyone!! I can't stress this enough!! I was very unlucky to have had to work with Shavitz Law. It has cost me more damages than good! I can speak to this truthfully as a 3+ year client of Gregg Shavitz. This firm is dangerous and may cause you more harm than good. Avvo.com needs to take this review seriously so others can be warned. i have no personal insults to make- only my professional legal experience as a client of Shavitz Law Firm and having worked with Gregg Shavitz, Michael Palitz (my co-counsel from Shavitz Law) and Chris Salamone. I had a very negative experience and I have tried to explain it in as much detail as possible. I hope it helps as many people out there as possible! Good luck!

They gave me three different dates of when they would be mailing settlement checks. Finally after numerous communications and false claims they gave a "final day checks would be mailed" as July 17th. So after 3 days of checking the mail for the elusive check that they had been promising, I received an email stating that there were "further delays" in mailing. They went on to say that they "estimate" the checks will be mailed by the end of the month, the 4th date they have given.

Gregg is an amazing person and attorney. I would highly recommend him! Gregg always stayed in touch with me, returned calls and emails almost immediately and was very effective. Strong litigation & mediation skills. He's well worth it! You will NOT regret using Mr. Shavitz!

Gregg Shavitz is an outstanding lawyer who is not only a brilliant lawyer but is one of the most ethical and honest lawyers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He deserves the very highest recognition and rating available, as he is a shining example of what we as lawyers should all strive to be.
