This area of practice includes DUI, DUI manslaughter, DUI with serious personal injury, administrative driver license suspensions, and DWLS. I have a special interest in the scientific evidence parts of these cases. The scientific evidence for this area of practice includes accident reconstruction, toxicology, and microbiology. My degree in chemistry gives me special insights into these scientific issues.

Domestic violence 14%

This area of practice includes domestic battery, stalking, DV injuctions, and related contempt issues. Many of the "battery" cases feature no witnesses and no independent evidence of a crime. The goal in such cases is to secure a dismissal of charges against the accused. I often work with family law specialists or with other criminal lawyers (who sometimes represent the "victim" to avoid false report problems).

Personal injury 14%

Automobile accidents and serious injuries. I will join with attorneys with specific specialties for complicated cases. The goal is to obtain the best recovery for the client.

Appeals 9%

Appeals from criminal convictions, denials of post-conviction relief, dispositive motions and illegal sentences. Extraordinary writs are pursued to challenge bail denials, to review denial of speedy trial dismissal and review DOC's administrative denial of gain time or sentencing structure.
