Jessica has been practicing law since 2002, and, exclusively, in the area of Marital and Family Law since 2005. Jessica is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Family Law, Collaborative Law and the Mediation and Arbitration Sections of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, and the Tampa Bay Academy of Collaborative Professionals. She was a former co-chair of the Collaborative Law Section and former executive council member of the Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
She was a partner at Older, Lundy & Alvarez where she proficiently litigated and mediated Marital and Family Law matters. Prior to that, Jessica was an associate of the law firm of Swope, Rodante, P.A. where she practiced in the areas of insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, personal injury, and product liability.
Jessica has received extensive basic and advanced training in collaborative law and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator.
Jessica has authored several articles on family law and collaborative law related matters and has been a speaker at a number of continuing education courses regarding collaborative law, family law litigation, discovery and trial preparation.
Jessica earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Emory University in 1998; and her Juris Doctorate Degree, cum laude, from the Florida State University College of Law in 2002. While at Emory she worked with the Department of Psychiatry in a research-based preschool for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
